Busy with the new job, which so far I am loving! But I have been a bit naughty in the meantime and the parcels keep coming 😂 Keep tune to see the new “toys”. #rideuk #malonmoto #adventurerider #ukmotorcycle #nobullshit
Great @gentlemansride from Evesham into Broadway. A great place to finish the ride looking dapper and admire some great bikes. #rideuk #malonmoto #adventurerider #ukmotorcycle #nobullshit
A bit of a reflection, observation is key! Look where you want to go and look as far as you can. This will make your rider smoother and safer! If you are looking for advance training, check Bike Safe, IAM and RoSPA. They all deliver excellent affordable training to make your rides safer but also more enjoyable! #nobullshit #malonmoto #rideuk #advanceriding #ukmotorcycle
I rode the Adventure Country Tracks UK. Five days. One honest verdict per day. Keep reading for the ranking. The ACT UK gets talked about a lot in ADV circles. So I did it. All of it. And I’m going to tell you exactly what each day is actually like. Keep reading for the full breakdown. Each day gets a score. Worth doing overall? Yes. Absolutely. But go in with realistic expectations. Day 1: 4/5 - Great day to get started with good views and combination of road and off road sections. Plus you may bump into nice people along the way, check the last photo for my “surprise guest.” Great to finally catch up after bumping into each other some many times! Day 2: 3/5 - Things get trickier plus time is limited as you have to get to the Ferry Day 3: 5/5 - It doesn’t get better than this! Awesome lanes, great roads, better view. Plus you get time to do the Isle of Man TT course! Day 4: 4/5 - Starting with the ferry allow planning and north England doesn’t disappoint! Day 2: 3/5 - Some great lanes with some amazing views but the fact that the adventure finishes lowers the score 😅 Save this if you’re planning the ACT UK. Tag someone who keeps saying they’ll do it “next year.” #rideuk #malonmoto #adventurerider #ukmotorcycle #nobullshit
Wow, just wow! I know the days are longer and there is more light but every time it gets dark I get amazed by how well these lights work! And with the MotoCan they integrate great and are super easy to use. If you want to turn night to day, the @loneridergear MotoLights are for you! #gearverdict #RideTheLights #adventurerider #mototraveler #nobullshit
Monday ritual (Tuesday when we have a long weekend 😉): let’s see where you lot went. Resharing some of my favourite photos from the “To the Coast” route. This week’s challenge — ride a road you’ve never been on. Doesn’t have to be far. Tag #rideuk and you’ll be in next Monday’s roundup. #malonmoto #adventurerider #ukbikers #nobullshit
The average UK motorcyclist rides fewer than 500 miles a year for pleasure. Meanwhile they commute over 2,500. I feel that’s backwards. People buy adventure bikes and ride them to work. They buy waterproofs and never use them. They plan routes they never ride. I’m not judging — I’ve been there. But it’s why I built RideUK. Not a magazine. Not a gear shop. Just one idea: ride more. Find the roads. Make the time. Go. Link in bio. Come and join. #rideuk #malonmoto #ukmotorcycle #adventurerider #nobullshit
I’ve ridden Wales more times than I can count. These places still stop me every single time. Wales is criminally underrated in the ADV world. No, it’s not the Pyrenees. But it’s really accessible from England and it will absolutely rearrange your face with how good it is. Swipe through all the photos — one spot per slide, with what makes it special and the one thing to watch out for. Save this. You’ll thank me next time you’re trying to plan the weekend. What’s the Welsh spot I’ve missed? Drop it below. #rideuk #malonmoto #adventurerider #greenlaning #ukmotorcycle
Thank god winter’s done. Am I the only one who thinks UK winter riding is shit? And no, I don’t mean the cold — that’s a solved problem. Heated grips, decent kit, decent tyres, layer up, crack on. 4°C is fine. I’ll ride in that all day. It’s the bloody salt. The crap they tip on every road from October to March. Within ten miles of leaving the drive your bike looks like it’s been dragged through a chip shop. It gets into every bolt, every linkage, every bit of the chain your brush can’t reach — and it’s still chewing your rims three months after the bike’s been tucked up for winter. So you’ve got two options. Ride and then spend an hour scrubbing the thing down when you get home, because if you don’t, that salt is eating metal by morning. Or don’t ride — because what’s the point of a bike that looks like it’s been pulled out of a hedge after every outing. There’s no third option. ACF-50, Scottoiler, fancy covers — they help, a lot but they don’t fix it. This is what puts me off from riding during the winter :( Tell me I’m not alone in this. What’s your routine — full strip-down every time, or just send it and let the bike take the hit? #malonmoto #rideuk #ukbikers #adventurerider #nobullshit
Everyone asks me about tyres. So here it is — no paid partnership, just miles of honest data. Great grip from day one, even on cold and wet British roads. Great behaviour on roads and motorways, even if you push them hard. Pairing the front with the Rock version in the rear will give better handling on gravel roads and dry green lanes. Heavy braking will wear the front unevenly, but it doesn’t affect performance or grip. The Rock rear will last a bit less than the standard one, but I still get over 6,000 miles comfortably — which takes me from one service to the next. Would I buy them again? Yes! I’ve had so many sets I’ve lost count. Drop your tyre setup in the comments — always curious what people are running. And save this for the next time someone asks. #gearverdict #tkc70 #adventurebike #malonmoto #nobullshit
