Ride UK wants to encourage motorcyclist to get our and ride regularly. Based on the figures from the Department of Transport, motorcyclists cover less than 500 miles a year for holidays or day trips, while people cover over 2500 miles a year commuting. Studies have also shown the benefits of riding motorcycles such has reducing stress and makeing you more attentive and responsive.
Bikesure performed a survey where they found that 90% of people said that motorcycling has a positive effect on their mental health and wellbeing. People said that motocycling made them feel part of a community, allows them to spend time outside, allows them more time with their thoughts and enables them to travel to different locations they might not visit otherwise.
Iñigo (MalonMotoin social media) decided to create RUK after seeing an article in Adventure Bike Rider Magazine. In 2021, Iñigo felt riding was losing its purpose, it wasn’t as motivating or exciting anymore. After exploring most of the UK and Europe on his motorcycle, he found himself always riding the same roads during the little time he had off work. This is why after seeing the article about the ABR 12 Month Challenge, he decided he wanted to ride more, with more purpose and he wanted to share this with his friends and other motorcyclist. Iñigo then created a Whatsapp group with his mates, pencilled some dates in the calendar and started planning 12 awesome routes for 12 amazing weekends.
With Ride UK, Iñigo aims to encourage people to Get Out, Ride and Discover new places, new people and new experiences. To do this, he has created 12 route suggestions for you to ride at your own pace. We believe that everyone would benefit from exploring the great outdoors on their motorcycles, and we are dedicated to making this accessible for all. By joining Ride UK, you will become part of a vibrant community of motorcycle enthusiasts.
Together, we can make great adventures.
